Data on the Lobash molybdenum deposit located in Central Karelia are summarized. It is an endogenous hydrothermal stockwork deposit of a molybdenum formation. It occurs as a large linear zonal-structured stockwork confined to a nonЂeroded granitic intrusion which occurs at a depth of over 100 m. The minable ore body is located at the nearest endocontact above the apical portion of the intrusion in Upper Archean greenstone volcanogenic rocks, and is traced along a strike length of over 2 km and across a width of 600 m and is at least 100–200 m thick in its axial portion. Lobash ore is of streaky-disseminated sulphide monometal type with routine molybdenum concentrations (average 0.06–0.07 %) and are readily dressed.
