The paper describes the vascular plant flora of five towns in southern Karelia. Total number of species ranges from 318 to 521, that of native species - from 239 to 357 (69-78%). Adventives contribute 22-31 %. The dominant adventive species group by mode of arrival is xenophytes (74-83%), whereas ergasiaphytes account for 14 to 24%. The most successful establishment is demonstrated by epoecophytes (36-51%). Agriophytes and colonophytes account for 7-15 and 15-25%, respectively. The proportion of cphemerophytes ranges from 16 to 38%. In terms of the recency of arrival, kenophytes account for 35 to 54%, neophytes - for 46 to 65%. Annotated checklist of the most phytogeographically important species is provided.
