Keywords: process transitions, power losses, energy losses, metering characteristic, irregularity of the load curve, load stabilization.
We demonstrate that equalization of the load in identical process stages in parallel operation yields the constrained minimum of combined power losses. The constrained minimum of power losses in non-identical process stages is achieved through equalization of relative rises in power losses from the stages. For process stages operating independently or sequentially stabilization of the demand curve at an average level would result in a constrained minimum of dynamic energy losses.
