We summarize the latest data on the role of the main subpopulations of regulatory T.cells (Treg cells) in the normal condition and in autoimmune diseases. The mechanisms of Treg cell functioning are considered for type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and multiple sclerosis; the results on the quantities of CD+CD25+T.cells at these pathologies are reported. Data on new molecular markers of Treg cells are presented. Current approaches to the immunotherapy for patients with autoimmune diseases are discussed.
