The main types of urban land use within the city Petrozavodsk were identified in the present study. The concentrations of heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Cu, Co, Ni, Mn, Zn) were determined in the soil samples collected from different land use types. The main pollutant in the range of the studied ones was distinguished. The average values of heavy metal content in the soils of Petrozavodsk were calculated. Pollution level and environmental impact were evaluated by the integrated pollution index Zc.
