Brief notes on how the application of computing machinery in various ecological studies has developed are offered. The author’s own experience of handling diverse tasks is described as an example of the evolution and uses of computing machines from their early days until now. Not only computers have been changing, but also the tasks addressed through solution of various ecological problems in Earth and Life Sciences.
