The legal and social5living status of «special» settlers – one of marginal groups of a post-war Soviet society is considered on the basis of materials from local archives. Deprivation of the freedom of movement did not let the forced migrants practise some of their civil rights, came along with discrimination in salaries, health care and consumer services, disconnected families.
