Litinskiy P.Yu. Geoinformation model of Eastern Fennoscandia northern taiga ecosystems // Transactions of Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Science. No 1. Biogeography. 2012. Pp. 3-15
Keywords: geoinformation modeling, boreal ecosystems, remote sensing, multispectral images classification
The results of creation of geoinformation model by an original technique of spectral space modeling of Landsat ETM+ image are described. It is shown that for forest ecosystems the location of spectral classes in many cases directly corresponds to their location within the axes of edaphic and phytocenotic coordinates, and the biogeocenotic complexes (quaternary deposits + vegetation) are identified. For mire ecosystems, spectral classes accurately reflect the water and mineral nutrition type (oligotrophic/mesotrophic). Ambiguous classes are decomposed using the geomorphometric model and time series imagery. As the result, all basic classes of primary ecosystems, as well as variants and stages of their natural and anthropogenic disturbance, are distinguished, totalling several dozens of categories, with a scale approximately 1 : 25 000. Thus the structural basis is created for integration of the results of various in situ surveys and, eventually – for building of the complex structural and functional model.
