The method of cosinor-analysis is a convenient tool for processing time series of physiological processes in plants. It is especially effective in situations when the application of classical methods of time series processing is incorrect. Advantages and shortcomings of cosinor-analysis are discussed in the paper through the example of the investigation of daily dynamics of CO2 exchange in Scots pine shoots during the growing season.
