Data from the literature and results of own research on the oribatid mite fauna in soils of the tundra zone and the northern taiga subzone of the Murmansk Region are summarized in this paper. The list of oribatid mite species inhabiting the northern taiga subzone has been extended to 216 species belonging to 100 genera of 47 families. In tundra soils, 101 oribatid species belonging to 56 genera of 26 families have been recorded. The total regional list of soil:dwelling oribatids comprises 250 species from 103 genera belonging to 48 families.
